Herndon & Merry was established as an ornamental iron fabrication business in 1959, in Nashville Tennessee by Bill Merry Sr. and Cecil Herndon (both now deceased) . Cecil Herndon retired in 1979, at which time Bill Merry Sr. purchased his partner's interest in the business.

Since 1979 the company has been operated by the Merry family. Bill Merry Senior's wife, Moneta Merry, still remains active in the family business. Today Herndon & Merry is headed by Bill Merry Senior's sons, with Bill Merry Jr. serving as President and Keith Merry serving as Vice President.

As the years have gone by, Herndon & Merry has transitioned from being a typical ornamental iron fabricator to one of the nation’s leading designers of architectural metalwork. Now more than ever before, our craftsmanship and design expertise shows through in every gate, stairway, railing, fence, balcony and other piece of metalwork we produce.
