JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Cutting Room Reports To: Shop Supervisor Department: Iron Works Summary: Unload trucks, cut materials, keep cutting room organized, and maintain the saw. Is trained on the use of the forklift & overhead crane. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reads work order to determine dimensions of materials to be cut. Starts machine and verifies size of cut material or notes accuracy of saw cut on spots of per marked iron. Readjusts machine to ensure specified dimensions of materials. Observes operation of machine to detect malfunction. Is responsible for the maintenance of cutting equipment. Replaces worn cutting blades. Competency: Design - Demonstrates attention to detail. Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification. Written Communication - Able to read and interpret written information. Business Acumen - Aligns work with strategic goals. Organizational Support - Follows policies and procedures; Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time. Certificates and Licenses: No certifications needed Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather).
